Your Pilot - David Ladley
David first flew at around the age of two in a T21 glider sitting on his grandfathers lap with his father as the pilot. He then went on to solo with the ATC in 1969 in a T31 glider, it must have been in the blood as his father had flown in the 2nd world war as a fighter pilot. 1979 saw David buying from the MOD glider Prefect WE 990, which he flew from Swanton Morley until 1983 when the Norwich Soaring Group disbanded (it still lives in his garden awaiting restoration). Gaining his PPL in 1985 at Swanton Morley, David flew there until the airfield was closed then moved to Shipdham, where he still glides and flies the tug, also having a share in a T61 motor glider.
David is used to "bearing" for calendars! This will be his second exploit..... need we say any more?
