Your Pilot - Mungo Amyatt-Leir
Mungo's first solo flying experience was in a glider at Manston when he was 16. Although he claims they are unconnected, his solo resulted in closure of a road at the end of a runway after the most landings achieved in a single flight. As a result (?) the RAF offerred a flying scholarship in order to make the skies a safer place, and after gaining his PPL, Mungo never flew again .... until a birthday ride in a Tiger moth 15 years later spurred him on (in conjuction with his flight sim publishing business). Culminating in the ownership of an Extra 300, (much to the relief of check-out instructors suffering nervous breakdowns in the conversion process), Mungo now flies in his handmade red and white flying suit and gleaming helmet. He claims these are all about safety and have nothing at all to do with his attempts at attracting female aviators...
